Higgins appointed GM of Dymocks Books

Dymocks has announced that Sophie Higgins, current head of marketing and merchandise, has been promoted to the role of Dymocks Books general manager, effective from 1 July.

In her new role, Higgins will have responsibility for overall store operations alongside marketing and buying, and will report to Dymocks managing director Steve Cox. Merchandise manager Sharyn Villaverde, digital manager Rhys Morgan, marketing and loyalty manager Gail McWhinnie, PR manager Sue Bobbermein and an operations team of three will report to Higgins.

Higgins joined Dymocks in 2010, and was promoted to head of merchandise and marketing in 2015.

In a statement, Cox commended Higgins for her ‘highly effective’ leadership skills. ‘By promoting Sophie to the role of general manager, I have every confidence that she will continue the success of the Dymocks network and take the business forward for many years to come,’ said Cox.
