Storyology festival 2018

The Walkley Foundation’s Storyology journalism festival will be held in Brisbane and Sydney in July.

The festival has a program of public talks and exhibitions that showcase great journalism. Guest speakers will give a glimpse behind the headlines to see what great journalism looks like, how it’s made, and how it impacts everyday lives in an increasingly uncertain world.

Brisbane events (Palace Barracks Theatre):

  • This book changed my life (6.00pm–7.30pm, 27 July)
  • Saturday morning with the papers (10.30am–11.30am, 28 July)
  • Shooting the storm (12.00noon–1.00pm, 28 July)
  • Power shifts: Identity, diversity, #MeToo (1.30pm–2.30pm, 28 July)
  • Killer stories: True crime and podcasts (3.00pm–4.00pm, 28 July).

Sydney events (Metcalfe Theatre):

  • Killer stories: True crime & podcasts (6.00pm– 7.00pm, 26 July)
  • Storyology BuzzFeed breakfast (7.30am–9.00am, 30 July)
  • How can investigative journalism projects change the world? (6.00pm–7.30pm, 30 July) at The Footbridge Theatre.
