Scribble sells North American rights to ‘Under the Love Umbrella’

Scribe’s children’s imprint, Scribble, has sold North American rights to Under the Love Umbrella (Davina Bell, illus by Allison Colpoys) to Simply Read Books.

Rights to the title have previously been sold in France, Italy, Spain and Korea. Now in its third reprint, Under the Love Umbrella has sold more than 10,000 copies.

Simply Read Books will publish Under the Love Umbrella in the US in 2019.

Scribble has also sold French rights to Bell and Colpoys’ forthcoming All the Ways to Be Smart (October) to Éditions Sarbacane, which has published the first two books by the pair and ‘continues to strongly support them in the French market’, according to Scribble.

Scribble publisher Miriam Rosenbloom says, ‘Davina and Allison are such talented and exciting artists to work with. We couldn’t be happier with the love that Under the Love Umbrella has found—I’m already calling it a future classic! All the Ways to be Smart continues their brilliant collaboration.’

All deals were negotiated by Veronique Kirchhoff of the VeroK Agency.
