Fantasy imprint Talem Press seeks submissions

Online writers’ platform and small publisher Writer’s Edit is seeking manuscript submissions for fantasy fiction imprint Talem Press.

The imprint focuses on fantasy fiction, featuring unlikely heroines, mysterious magic and empowering stories. Editor Claire Bradshaw told Books+Publishing: ‘Over the last five years of running Writer’s Edit, it’s become clear to us that the majority of our readers are lovers of the fantasy genre. This, combined with the success of Talem Press’ first book, Heart of Mist, made it a natural step for us to focus solely on fantasy.’

In August 2017, Talem published Helen Scheuerer’s debut young adult fantasy novel Heart of Mist, the first instalment of ‘The Oremere Chronicles’ trilogy. The book sold on Amazon in print and ebook formats, where it became a bestseller in several categories, but doesn’t yet have a distributor. The imprint also published an audiobook version of the novel in April on Audible.

Writer’s Edit has opened Talem for submissions for an initial three-month period from July 12 to October 12. Authors can submit a cover letter and the first three chapters of their fantasy manuscript here.
