Staff changes at Hardie Grant Egmont, Lewis appointed MD

Hardie Grant Egmont has announced several staff changes to its management team.

Troy Lewis will move from his current role as director at Hardie Grant (where he was responsible for leading the HG digital and Hardie Grant Travel businesses) to take up the position of managing director of Hardie Grant Egmont from 1 September. Lewis previously filled the role of managing director at Hardie Grant Books in a parental leave position.

Lewis takes over from current Hardie Grant Egmont managing director Annabel Barker, who will step into a new role as rights and business development director.

Hardie Grant Egmont chair Sandy Grant said, ‘Annabel has been an outstanding managing director, and we are pleased she will remain with the group in a new role which is central to our strategic direction. While we didn’t plan for this change we are very lucky to have Troy in the business and able to take on this role. His background shows he is an ideal candidate and with Annabel, Marisa Pintado and Kate Brown he will have formidable management team.’

Publisher Marisa Pintado has also been promoted to publishing director, and will oversee Hardie Grant Egmont’s local publishing list and the Little Hare picture book imprint. Pintado will work closely with commercial director Kate Brown.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Hardie Grant Egmont acquired a selection of titles from Bonnier Publishing Australia’s children’s imprint Five Mile, after a major restructure of Bonnier Publishing Australia in March this year.
