Love Your Bookstore campaign to run in US
In the US, a number of book industry figures have created the Love Your Bookstore campaign to promote physical bookstores, reports Publishers Weekly.
The campaign will run from 10-16 November, in the lead-up to the holiday shopping season, and will include the Love Your Bookstore Challenge. The challenge encourages readers and authors to visit a local bookstore and take a picture of a book that they love, want to buy, or plan to give as a gift. Participants who post to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #loveyourbookstore are eligible to win book-related prizes.
The campaign steering committee includes Sourcebooks publisher and CEO Dominique Raccah, Anderson’s Bookshops owner Becky Anderson, Children’s Book Council executive director Carl Lennertz and Publishers Weekly president George Slowik Jr.
