Love Your Bookstore campaign to run in US

In the US, a number of book industry figures have created the Love Your Bookstore campaign to promote physical bookstores, reports Publishers Weekly.

The campaign will run from 10-16 November, in the lead-up to the holiday shopping season, and will include the Love Your Bookstore Challenge. The challenge encourages readers and authors to visit a local bookstore and take a picture of a book that they love, want to buy, or plan to give as a gift. Participants who post to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #loveyourbookstore are eligible to win book-related prizes.

The campaign steering committee includes Sourcebooks publisher and CEO Dominique Raccah, Anderson’s Bookshops owner Becky Anderson, ​Children’s Book Council executive director Carl Lennertz and ​Publishers Weekly president George Slowik Jr.
