Leading Edge to hold 2019 conference in Adelaide

Leading Edge Books (LEB) will hold its annual conference on 17-19 March at the Hilton Adelaide in South Australia.

With the theme ‘making connections’, the conference program will incorporate the usual half-day supplier trade show and awards presentation dinner.

On Sunday, 17 March the conference will feature a ‘review of LEB services and new initiatives’, which may answer questions about the recent restructure, as well as a keynote presentation and a number of supplier sessions and presentations. The day will conclude with welcome cocktails.

The morning of Monday, 18 March will feature the ‘members share best ideas’ session and attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the authors of popular 2019 titles. The supplier trade show will be held in the afternoon.

The awards dinner on the Monday night will include the announcement of the 2019 Indie Books Awards for the best Australian books of 2018, the presentation of Bookseller of the Year (Metro and Regional) awards and the announcement of the Publisher of the Year and Small Publisher of the Year awards.

A bookseller-supplier forum on industry issues and presentation of the ‘conference surprise guest’ will take place on Tuesday, 19 March and the conference will conclude at lunch time on that day.

There will also be an optional event for early arrivals on Saturday, 16 March.

The 2018 LEB conference was held in Hobart in March.
