Davey appointed head of category at Leading Edge

Leading Edge Group has appointed Charlie Davey as head of category.

Davey has held senior positions at Big W and WHSmith, and has more than 27 years’ experience working in category management, merchandise, sales and supply chain in retail, digital and wholesale environments in Australia and the United Kingdom.

He will be responsible for the category team, including category manager for books Leanne Kadareanu, as well as managers in computers, appliances, jewellery, electronics, tech repairs, entertainment, auto electrical and digital.

In September, Leading Edge restructured its business, dissolving its group teams, including the books division, and created ‘centres of excellence’, including a category team, customer relations team and a retail services team.

Davey commenced the role on 26 November, replacing Lee Scott, who had been with Leading Edge for 14 years.
