Wheeler Centre to offer new fellowships for regional, interstate writers

The Wheeler Centre will offer three new fellowships for regional and interstate writers as part of its Hot Desk Fellowships program in 2019.

The new fellowships will be offered to three writers who are normally unable to participate in a Hot Desk Fellowship due to their location. They will receive a five-week residency at the Norma Redpath Studio in Carlton, which was bequeathed to the University of Melbourne by the family of Australian sculptor Norma Redpath. The three fellows will receive a $1000 stipend and an additional $2000 living-away-from-home allowance ($3000 in total), as well as having their travel costs to and from Melbourne paid for.

Residencies at the Norma Redpath Studio will be scheduled to align with the three intake periods for Hot Desk Fellowships throughout the year, with one regional/interstate fellowship offered per intake.

Hot Desk Fellowships are supported by the Readings Foundation. Applications are now open for three intake periods in 2019.
