PRH Australia launches local speakers bureau

Penguin Random House Australia (PRH) has announced it will establish a local speakers bureau, which will coordinate PRH authors’ speaking engagements for corporate clients, and the business, government and academic sectors.

Modelled on the PRH Speakers Bureau in the US, the local version will be open to PRH authors from across both its adult and young readers lists. It is the third such bureau for PRH globally, but the expansion makes PRH the first publisher in Australia to launch into the local speakers industry. The bureau is not focusing on schools ‘at this stage’, according to PRH Australia.

PRH says it will offer clients ‘a unique suite of partnership options incorporating branded custom publishing, gift incentives, collaborative content creation and bookselling solutions’.

Due to launch in May 2019, the PRH Speakers Bureau will manage administration, fee negotiation and all logistics directly with clients, on behalf of bureau authors, on a commission basis.
