Australian Romance Readers Awards 2018 winners announced

The winners of the 2018 Australian Romance Readers Awards, presented by the Australian Romance Readers Association (ARRA), have been announced, with Kylie Scott named favourite Australian romance author.

Scott’s novel Chaser (Macmillan) also won in the favourite contemporary romance category and the members’ choice award for favourite 2018 romance with laugh-out-loud moment.

The 2018 winners in the other categories were:

Favourite paranormal romance

  • Ocean Light (Nalini Singh, Gollancz)

Favourite sci-fi, fantasy or futuristic romance

  • Cursed (Keri Arthur, KA Publishing)

Favourite historical romance

  • Marry in Scandal (Anne Gracie, Jove)

Favourite short or category romance

  • Maggie’s Run (Kelly Hunter, Tule Publishing)

Favourite romantic suspense

  • Dark in Death (J D Robb, Piatkus)

Favourite continuing romance series

  • ‘Outback Brides’ (Kelly Hunter, Victoria Purman, Cathryn Hein & Fiona McArthur, Tule Publishing)

Favourite debut romance author of 2018

  • Laura Boon

The other member’s choice awards were:

Favourite 2018 romance that made me cry

  • Maggie’s Run (Kelly Hunter, Tule Publishing)

Favourite Australian romance of 2018

  • Maggie’s Run (Kelly Hunter, Tule Publishing).

The winners were chosen by ARRA members, and announced at an awards dinner in Sydney on 22 February.
