Editors Victoria: Dinner meeting with Joe Reich

For its first meeting of the year, the Victorian branch of IPEd (Editors Victoria) is trialling a new venue: the Coffee Head Cafe in Camberwell.

The guest speaker will be Joe Reich—ophthalmologist by day and novelist by moonlight, and also the newly appointed director of Melbourne Jewish Book Week. He’ll be talking to us about the similarities and differences of being a novelist and writer of professional medical textbooks, what’s like to run a literary festival—and—should anyone really want to know—the ins and outs of laser surgery.

Reich’s novels will also be available for sale on the night, $10 each (cash only, please). The event includes a stand up cocktail menu (three courses), with one alcoholic or soft beverage, tea and coffee.

Location: Coffee Head Cafe, 8 Railway Parade, Camberwell (just behind Burke Rd, near Camberwell railway station).
