A&U acquires new Anh Do children’s books in three-series deal

Allen & Unwin has acquired ANZ rights to three new children’s series by Anh Do.

‘Wolf Girl’ is the first of three new series aimed at an older readership of 8-14-year-olds. The first instalment of the series, Into the Wild, follows a young girl who is separated from her family and must fend for herself, supported by a pack of dogs she befriends in the wilderness.

Do is an actor, comedian, painter and the author of midde-grade series ‘WeirDo’, ‘Hotdog!’ and ‘Ninja Kid’ (all Scholastic).

‘There’s no one quite like Anh Do,’ said Allen & Unwin CEO Robert Gorman. ‘He’s a truly special writer whose mission it is to motivate and entertain young readers. We are delighted to be publishing these three fantastic new series.’

Do said: ‘I’m incredibly excited to bring you Wolf Girl. It’s my new action-adventure series starring Gwen and her wonderful pack of dogs … and one wolf! Writing stories that inspire children to read is something I love doing. I hope Wolf Girl takes them to exciting new places and gives readers as much enjoyment as I’ve had writing it.’

Into the Wild: Wolf Girl 1 will publish in July 2019. The two other as yet unnamed series are due to be published in 2019 and 2020.
