McGregor awarded $2000 by Kat Muscat Fellowship Committee

Express Media and the Kat Muscat Custodial Committee have awarded $2000 to Caitlin McGregor, to develop a ‘series of essays around care’.

McGregor was highly commended for the 2019 Kat Muscat Fellowship. An anonymous donor subsequently came forward, allowing Express Media and the committee to present the award.

Committee chair Veronica Sullivan said the committee is ‘absolutely delighted’ to award Caitlin McGregor the prize. ‘The Committee were deeply impressed by Caitlin’s application, and we are thrilled that this donation will enable Caitlin the time and space to work on her book,’ said Sullivan.

The annual Kat Muscat Fellowship was set up by Express Media in honour of former Voiceworks editor Kat Muscat. It offers professional development up to the value of $3000 for an editorial project or work of writing by a young female-identifying or non-binary person.

Writer and educator Liana Skrzypczak was awarded the 2019 Kat Muscat Fellowship.
