HarperCollins acquires three new McTiernan novels

HarperCollins has acquired ANZ rights to three new books from crime writer Dervla McTiernan, via Tara Wynne at Curtis Brown Australia.

The first book in McTiernan’s new deal, which is yet to be titled, will centre on D S Carrie O’Halloran, who has appeared in McTiernan’s previous books The Rúin and The Scholar. HarperCollins said: ‘Broadening the scope of the series to include characters old and new will allow McTiernan to approach crimes from fresh perspectives—and keep the readers guessing.’

Publisher Anna Valdinger said she is ‘hugely excited to have signed up more books from Dervla’. ‘She’s a tremendous talent and her novels are getting better and better—truly unputdownable, stay-up-all-night reads. I can’t wait to go back to Galway for more of Cormac, Carrie and the team.’

The Good Turn, the third novel in McTiernan’s D S Cormac Reilly series, will be published in March 2020.
