APA: Australian Reading Challenge

Australian Publishers Association (APA) is encouraging readers to be involved in the Australian Reading Challenge.

The Australian Reading Challenge is for three types of people: those who would like to read more and personally feel the benefits, those who would like to read more to their kids or grandkids to help improve their literacy levels and spend quality time together, and those already avid-readers who would like some fresh inspiration to read new voices, genres and ideas.

The challenge is designed for adults and is different as there’s no competition with others. Participants will set the goal they would like to reach, such as reading hours in a week, number of books or genres to read over a month, and the program will prompt them to track their progress. The program will offer mini-challenges to get participants reading something they may not have thought to. Reading challenges help to improve self motivation by letting the participant set the goals, making reading regular feature of their week.

The Australian Publishers Association is a key partner of the Australian Reading Hour, of which the challenge is a part.

Those who would like to participate can sign up here.
