Transit Lounge acquires new novel from Krauth

Transit Lounge has acquired world rights to Kirsten Krauth’s new novel Almost a Mirror in a deal brokered by Jo Butler.

Recently shortlisted for the Penguin Literary Prize, Almost a Mirror is set in the 1980s and centres on the Crystal Ballroom, a former post-punk music venue in Melbourne.

Transit Lounge co-publisher Barry Scott said, ‘We are  excited to be publishing a novel that so perfectly explores the power of music, art and photography to shape our lives. Kirsten not only perfectly evokes the post-punk world of 80s Melbourne but also the Blue Mountains and the country town of Castlemaine. At its heart the novel celebrates the everyday sacredness of family and friendship in the face of unexpected tragedy.’

Almost a Mirror will be published in April 2020.
