Kill Your Darlings announces New Australian Fiction collection contributors

Kill Your Darlings (KYD) has announced the contributors to its inaugural annual print collection of short stories, New Australian Fiction, due to published in October 2019.

The contributors are: Tony Birch, Zoë Bradley, Mikaella Clements, Craig Cormick, Laura Elvery, Andrea Gillum, Anne Hotta, Joshua Kemp, Jack Kirne, Julie Koh, Wayne Marshall, Chloe Michele, A S Patrić, Allee Richards, Melanie Saward, Gretchen Shirm, Khalid Warsame and Laura Elizabeth Woollett.

KYD has been publishing strong and challenging stories in the magazine for almost 10 years,’ said KYD publishing director and series editor Rebecca Starford. ‘This year we’re very excited to publish our first print collection of stories. This collection showcases exciting new writing from established and emerging writers from all corners of the country, and we can’t wait until the book is in the hands of readers everywhere.’

The publisher also revealed the cover of New Australian Fiction (pictured), designed by Alissa Dinallo.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, KYD will continue to publish short fiction online, and plans to expand its digital fiction publishing by commissioning ‘genre showcases’ throughout 2019.
