ILF celebrates International Year of Indigenous Languages with bookshop fundraising program

The Indigenous Literary Foundation (ILF) will mark the UNESCO International Year of Indigenous Languages with a revamped membership program for bookshops.

Launched last year, the ILF member program asks member bookshops to set a fundraising goal of between $500 and $5000, with the ILF providing a range of in-store visual marketing material to promote Indigenous literacy to customers. This year’s materials include bunting, bookmarks and tote bags.

Last year Australian booksellers raised about $90,000 in total for the ILF, with about $20,000 coming from the bookshop member program. ILF marketing manager Jane Crowley said that this year the organisation hopes to raise a total of $100,000 from booksellers.
