New KYD program to focus on regional Victorian writers

Kill Your Darlings (KYD) has announced a new publishing program for regional Victorian writers.

From August 2019 to June 2020, KYD will publish the work of regional Victorian writers every month alongside its regular publishing program. All KYD contributors are paid.

KYD will also bring subsidised sessions of its writers’ workshop to regional centres, in partnership with Writers Victoria.

KYD was founded and is based in Melbourne, a brilliant UNESCO City of Literature’, said KYD publisher Alice Cottrell. ‘We do recognise, however, that many of the opportunities available to writers here are not so accessible to those living outside of metropolitan areas. We want to contribute to changing that. This program is designed to support regional writers throughout the state. We’re hoping to create lasting relationships with writers, readers and literary organisations in regional Victoria, and we’re very excited to discover new work by regional writers!’
