Bologna postponed due to coronavirus

This year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

The fair, which was scheduled for 30 March–2 April, will now run from 4–7 May.

In an email to exhibitors, reported by the Bookseller, fair organisers acknowledged the ‘organisational problems the postponement will cause’. ‘However, given the current national and international situation, we felt duty bound to take this difficult decision,’ the organisers said. ‘We very much hope you can fit these new dates into your work schedule and that we will be able to welcome you to Bologna as usual.’

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, the Taipei International Book Exhibition, originally scheduled for 4–9 February, was postponed until 7–12 May as a result of the spreading coronavirus epidemic.
