Writing WA moves Love to Read Local campaign forward amid Covid-19

Writing WA’s Love to Read Local initiative, originally intended as a week-long celebration of WA books and storytelling scheduled for May, has been adapted and brought forward in response to Covid-19.

‘Covid-19 has forced us to change the ways in which we were planning to share the celebration, but our intention remains the same—to bring our community together around a collective appreciation of local stories, books and writers,’ said Writing WA CEO Sharon Flindell.

Writing WA has launched a dedicated website featuring podcasts curated by Fremantle Press, links to author interviews, and a series of interviews with WA writers on ABC Radio National’s Early Mornings program. Readers are invited to contribute through various means, including writing and sharing book reviews and contributing images.

The Love to Read Local campaign also includes promotion of a range of titles at 20% discount from participating bookshops.
