Bonnier Books UK to introduce flexible working for staff

Bonnier Books UK will introduce flexible working for office staff once the Covid-19 pandemic eases, allowing employees to work up to three days a week from home, reports the Bookseller.

Bonnier Books CEO Perminder Mann said the past six months had shown staff could successfully work from home. The vast majority of employees are still working remotely—except for a handful of ‘businesses critical roles’—while those who want to come into the offices can do so on a voluntary basis.

‘The success of our overnight switch to home working for all office staff back in March, has given us much pause for thought,’ Mann said. ‘We know that we can do great work from home … we also know that our teams and culture thrive with contact and so our offices will always play an important role in our business.’

Staff will return to the offices under the flexible arrangement once Bonnier ‘feels comfortable reopening our offices to all staff’. The company’s Igloo Books warehouse remains operational.
