‘Flames’ to be adapted for screen

Flames, the debut novel by Robbie Arnott (Text), will be developed into a six-part television series with Tasmanian government funding of $20,000.

The project, which will be produced by Jungle Entertainment, was one of 13 selected for funding from the Tasmanian Government’s Additional Screen Development Round.

Announcing the funding in June, a statement from Tasmanian minister for the arts Elise Archer said the state had delivered $250,000 of new funding for new screen projects through Screen Australia as part of the government’s $3.5 million Cultural and Creative Industries Stimulus Package in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jungle Entertainment productions include A Moody Christmas, No Activity and Bad Mothers. Arnott will work as a consultant on the series.
