Bologna moves to June; plans new general publishing exhibit

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair has changed its dates for next year’s fair from April to June 14-17.

Director Elena Pasoli said pushing the fair back ‘gives us the valuable opportunity to meet again as an industry, prior to moving back to our usual time-frame of April’. ‘Bologna is wonderful in April and even better in June—we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our book fair in which al fresco meetings will be the norm!’ said Pasoli.

The fair has also announced a new conference and exhibit for general publishing, BolognaBookPlus. Former London Book Fair director Jacks Thomas has been appointed as guest director.

Organisers said the three-day exhibit ‘will be examine the key challenges from changing business models, technological enablement, accessibility, sustainability and inclusivity’, while the ‘international line-up of speakers and delegates and a targeted exhibiting opportunity’ will expand the core Bologna exhibitor base.
