Booktopia restructures merchandise team

Booktopia has restructured its merchandise teams, with several changes to key personnel.

Jo Lewin, formerly head of trade product, has been appointed to the newly created role of head of merchandise. Joel Naoum, formerly nonfiction category manager, has been promoted to head of trade product, where he will report to Lewin.

‘With the extraordinary sales and profit growth of the last 12 months, and our exciting plans for the future, it is crucial for Booktopia’s merchandise team to be world class,’ Booktopia CEO Tony Nash said. ‘I am confident that under Jo’s leadership, we are well placed to profitably and sustainably grow our business through unbeatable range, stock availability and our continued relationships with author and publisher partners.’

Tracey Mills has resigned as head of academic books and will assist with an extended handover period while the company recruits her replacement. ‘Tracey has really built the academic division of Booktopia from the ground up and I have enormous respect for her industry knowledge,’ Nash said. ‘Booktopia thanks Tracey for all her work and dedication and wish her the best for her future endeavours.’

The changes are effective from 24 May.
