Mullane receives Copyright Agency Publishing Industry Career Development grant

Ultimo Press commissioning editor Brigid Mullane has received this year’s Copyright Agency Cultural Fund Publishing Industry Career Development grant, worth $5000.

The grant will support Mullane to develop strategies to build Australia’s literary and narrative nonfiction readership. As part of the grant, Mullane plans to attend the biannual NonfictioNOW conference in Wellington in December, where she will meet with colleagues from emerging and established publishers to discuss readership development strategies.

‘Brigid’s upcoming discussions with her New Zealand colleagues, who operate in a similar-sized market to Australia, is sure to be fruitful not only for Ultimo Press, but also the broader publishing industry at home,’ said Copyright Agency CEO Adam Suckling.
