Authors, industry figures recognised in 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours

Several authors and publishing industry figures are among the recipients of this year’s Queen’s Birthday honours.

Publishing industry figures cited include writers Lily Brett and James Bradley, who were awarded the Medal in the General Division (OAM) for services to literature; critic and academic Susan Lever, and author, anthropologist and Australian National University (ANU) professor emeritus Diane Bell, who were awarded OAMs for their service to literature; as well as author and publisher Julie Watts, who was awarded an OAM for service to literature as a publisher.

The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) reported that two ALIA members were awarded OAMs: past president and ANU university librarian Roxanne Missingham, and University of Melbourne professor Kathleen Gray.
