Australian Short Story Festival 2021 program announced

After being cancelled in 2020, the Australian Short Story Festival (ASSF) will be held in Adelaide from 5–7 November 2021.

The 2021 program features established authors including Maxine Beneba Clarke and Cate Kennedy alongside new and emerging writers such as Melissa Manning, Emma Ashmere, Barry Lee Thompson and Margaret Hickey. The festival encompasses three days of workshops, book launches, readings and panels ‘that celebrate the art of short form story telling’.

ASSF 2021 will be held in-person at the University of South Australia’s city west campus. Should lockdowns and border closures prevent interstate guests from appearing in Adelaide, their sessions will be moved online to a live Zoom session with an in-person audience and moderator.

The full program for the 2021 festival can be viewed on the ASSF website.
