Peribo account manager Fergus McCulla has died, aged 31.

McCulla was diagnosed with a rare and ultimately incurable form of rhabdomyosarcoma in October 2018. He passed away peacefully on 20 August, 2021.

The Australian Booksellers Association writes:

‘Fergus McCulla started working part time at Peribo in the warehouse, gift fairs and at Novella bookshop before moving to full time work as a Peribo account manager based in Northern Sydney early in 2017. Fergus was also an accomplished musician performing with a number of local bands at various venues around Australia. Fergus is the son, grandson and nephew of Jane, Eddie and Michael Coffey, owners of Peribo.

‘Jay Lansdown writes, “Fergus was not only a wonderful rep, but a funny, engaging, kind and gentle human being and he will be sorely missed by Mel, myself and all of us at Constant Reader.”’
