I’ve only just finished reading Kate Forsyth’s Bitter Greens (Vintage), which is a mix of historical fiction and fantasy, combining a retelling of the fairytale Rapunzel with the story of a real person, French novelist Charlotte-Rose de la Force, who was banished from the court of Versailles by Louis XIV, the Sun King after a series of affairs. Loved it!
