Scribner launches in Canada

In Canada, Simon & Schuster (S&S) has announced it is launching Scribner Canada, reports Publishers Weekly.

Scribner Canada will publish literary fiction and nonfiction from Canada, as well as titles from abroad and in translation. It won’t have a dedicated editor to oversee the imprint; instead, it will be run as a collective with various editors contributing to the list.

The imprint’s first titles include the novel We Spread by Iain Reid, and The Long Road Home, a nonfiction title by Debra Thompson on her family history and Black identity.

‘I’ve long admired Scribner US and their venerable list of authors, and am excited to launch this new imprint that will complement and support our existing local publishing program, with its numerous bestsellers,’ said S&S Canada publisher Kevin Hanson.
