Booktopia opens new corporate offices in Western Sydney

Online book retailer Booktopia has opened its new corporate offices in the Western Sydney suburb of Rhodes.

The company said the new, 2000 sqm offices will free up space at the company distribution centre in Lidcombe. Just over 130 corporate staff will work from the new Rhodes offices, while logistics and distribution staff will remain at Booktopia’s Lidcombe and Enfield distribution centres.

Booktopia CEO Tony Nash said the company had outgrown its office space within the Lidcombe distribution centre.

‘Moving all of our corporate staff to the new facility confirms our commitment to being an employer of choice in the Australian ecommerce sector while also encouraging greater collaboration among our teams,’ Nash said.

‘With two dedicated storage and distribution centres (Lidcombe and Enfield) and separate corporate offices, we are now well placed to achieve the long-term goals we have set for the business by attracting and retaining the best people in the industry.’

Nash added that the facilities at Rhodes Business Park, which includes a swimming pool, gym, daycare centre and direct access to a shopping centre, were an ‘important factor’ in moving to the new offices.

‘The campus-style environment will be a significant step-up in terms of the amenities for our staff, and when coupled with the fit-for-purpose, open plan, contemporary fit-out we have built, it will ensure our people have the offices they deserve,’ Nash said.
