Vale Dino Traverso

Dino Traverso, co-owner of Dymocks Melbourne on Collins Street, has died. He was 64.

Dymocks writes:

‘Following an early career in finance and banking, Dino, his brother Ivan and Ivan’s wife Patricia opened their first Dymocks bookstore in 1994, beginning with a store location in Collins Place, Melbourne. In the late 90’s the family purchased the Dymocks Melbourne Central store, and in 2001 another in their current location at 234 Collins Street. In 1997, Dino married his wife Melissa, and she later joined him in working at the Collins Street store, making the business a truly family affair.

‘Dino’s interests and passion centred around his beloved family and his business. His commercial acumen, his deep knowledge and understanding of IT, and a love for books played a major role in establishing the Dymocks Melbourne store as the thriving, beautiful destination it is today.

Says Dymocks managing director Mark Newman: “We are deeply saddened to hear of Dino’s passing. Dino was hugely respected within the franchise network and the broader Dymocks team. He will be missed by many and very fondly remembered throughout our business and the wider bookselling community.”‘
