Big Issue fiction edition returns

The Big Issue has announced the authors chosen for its annual fiction edition.

The 2022 edition includes works from 12 writers selected from 905 submissions. The selected works were anonymously judged by Melissa Fulton and Claire Cao, with the Big Issue editorial team.

The selected works are by Kerry Munnery, Vrinda Baliga, Bec Kavanagh, Jenni Mazaraki, Katherine Smyrk, Benjamin Hickey, Clare Fletcher, Emma Darragh, Linds Sanders, Sean Wilson, Claire Aman and Gwen Andrews, with illustrations by Guy Shield. 

‘Fiction expands our worlds, helps us make sense of this one, and allows us to experience life from other perspectives,’ said Big Issue editor Amy Hetherington. ‘Plus, the Fiction Edition is always a bestseller and provides a much-welcome income boost for Big Issue vendors.’
