HarperCollins adult books has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and creative professional to join the adult publishing division in the role of nonfiction publisher—ABC Books.

You will be joining a strong, creative and highly collaborative team of five publishers with a track record in publishing award-winning, bestselling Australian fiction and nonfiction.

The purpose of the role is to conceive, develop and acquire commercial nonfiction for the ABC Books imprint. You will be hungry to discover new talent, be aware of and responsive to trends, and you will have excellent relationships with Australian agents. You will have a specialised knowledge of the trade market, and experience in strategic planning and working to achieve set financial goals.

To be effective in this role you must be highly collaborative, creative and a strategic, lateral thinker with high level personal skills. You must have minimum 2 years’ experience as a commercial publisher with an editorial track record and good knowledge of publishing contracts and practices.
