Key account manager, Sydney

We are seeking a customer focused Key Account Manager to join our sales team. Reporting to the Head of National Sales, you will be responsible for maximising book sales across a selection of our retail partners. You will develop and manage relationships with customers, meet agreed sales budgets and maximise sales through collaborative promotional activity and rigorous inventory management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Increase sales and maximise all opportunities
  • Manage the sales process from presentation of sales materials to processing and tracking of ordersIdentify market and promotional opportunities within each account
  • Connect marketing campaigns to promotional activity to drive sales
  • Report preparation – both written and verbal
  • Provide input and feedback on market opportunities, marketing proposals, promotional plans, consumer and sales trends

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or a related field
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in sales
  • Experience using feedback and data analysis to make informed and strategic decisions
  • Proven ability to think and work analytically
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

In addition, you will be a book loving opportunist and a champion of process and operational improvements with the goal of best sales outcomes. Previous experience in the publishing or book industry is highly desirable.
