Daleng leaves Booktopia
Booktopia chief marketing officer (CMO) Steffen Daleng will leave the company as part of a restructure that will see 30–40 redundancies made.
Daleng leaves after four-and-a-half years in the role. He was the general manager—digital & marketing at the Co-op prior to his appointment as Booktopia CMO.
Daleng thanked Booktopia founder Tony Nash and said he will continue to support Nash, acting CEO Geoff Stalley and the incoming CEO in the transition. ‘With a new CEO entering the business soon and a restructure of its operating cost base and infrastructure, there will be a new lease of life in what is, and will continue to be, Australia’s best destination to find stories and knowledge,’ said Daleng.
‘Booktopia has been the home and incubator of some of Australia’s best ecommerce and marketing talent the last four years and as I hand the baton to the next generation of marketing leaders I will continue to be their biggest supporter.’
