Clunes 2023 program announced
Clunes Booktown festival has announced its ‘biggest program yet’ for the 2023 event to take place on the weekend of 25 and 26 March in Clunes, Victoria.
Sessions programmed include a panel on crime writing featuring Emma Viskic, Vikki Petraitis, Candice Fox and Sean Wilson, a session on writing LGBTIQA+ nonfiction with Noah Riseman, Jill Blee and Yves Rees, a discussion of the environment from a First Nations perspective with Tony Birch and Jacqui Katona, and exploration of romance ‘with a twist’, featuring Nina Kenwood, Alice Boyle, Alicia Thompson and Mik Jacobs. Other panels include Jacinta Parsons and Tess Brady with photographer Ponch Hawks on ageing, a session on speculative fiction with Grace Chan, Chris Flynn, Angela Meyer and Else Fitzgerald, a session ‘focusing on zoomers’ with Amelia Mellor, Nova Weetman, Shivan Plozza and Mat Larkin, and Sophie Cunningham, Emily Bitto and Miles Allinson on ‘The edge of the known world’, among other sessions.
The weekend will also feature musical performances, a poetry slam, writing workshops and the return of booksellers to the main street of Clunes.
