IPEd conference program announced for May

The program for the 11th Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) conference, will take place as an online event in May under the theme ‘Where editing and the future meet’, has been announced.

The 2023 IPEd conference includes keynote addresses, research papers, panel discussions and interviews, as well as a series of workshops which comprise a professional development package. All presentations will be delivered using Zoom.

The conference runs from 2–5 May (Tuesday to Friday) and 8–9 May (Monday to Tuesday). Guests include University of Queensland emeritus professor Roland Sussex; representatives from counterpart organisations in Canada, the UK and South Africa; associate professor of Indigenous Australian studies and publishing studies Sandra Phillips; a publishers’ panel featuring representatives from the Publishers Association of New Zealand Te Rau o Tākupu, the Small Press Network and the Australian Publishers Association; and Booktopia head of trade product Joel Naoum.
