Reynolds reportedly settles with publisher, journalist over alleged defamation in ‘Ego’

Former federal minister Linda Reynolds has settled with journalist Aaron Patrick and publisher HarperCollins over allegedly defamatory statements made in the book Ego: Malcolm Turnbull and the Liberal Party’s civil war, reports the Guardian.

Reynolds filed a writ against Patrick and HarperCollins in the Western Australian supreme court, seeking aggravated damages over allegations the book made defamatory statements about her response to Brittany Higgins’ allegations of rape.

The Guardian reports that Patrick confirmed the parties have settled but the terms are confidential. ‘The settlement allows for the continued sale of Ego,’ Patrick told the Guardian. ‘The book hasn’t been banned.’
