Over 2.3 million participate in ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime

The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) has announced that this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) was the biggest in the event’s 23-year history, with over 2.3 million participants registered in 2023.

Wednesday, 24 May at 11am AEST saw children across Australia, New Zealand and the world join together to read The Speedy Sloth (Rebecca Young, illus by Heath McKenzie, Scholastic). In total, there were 2,357,960 participants taking part from 22,542 locations.

Last year’s event attracted 2.18 million readers.
