Text Publishing has acquired two new works from Ruth Ozeki
She is the author of the Booker Prize shortlisted A Tale for the Time Being and Women’s Prize winner The Book of Form and Emptiness.
The Typing Lady: Short Fictions is a playful, ominous, and sometimes surreal first collection of stories that delves into the intricacies of identity, time, and interconnectedness. It will be published in 2025. Her new novel To Live, For Now is set amid the feminist and activist movement of Japan’s tumultuous Taishō era, weaving a vivid tapestry of love, loss, and political radicalism in a country on the brink of war. Publication is scheduled for 2027. ANZ rights were acquired from Abner Stein on behalf of The Friedrich Agency.
