Children’s authors, editors sign open letter calling for ceasefire

In the US, over 3500 children’s authors, illustrators, agents, editors, and other members of the children’s literature community have signed an open letter to US President Joe Biden as the KidLit4Ceasefire team.

The open letter demands that Biden, ‘along with the US Congress, immediately join the leaders worldwide who are calling for a permanent ceasefire in order to safeguard the future of every Palestinian child still living in Gaza and the West Bank’.

‘As children’s publishing professionals, we create our work for the sake of all the children in the world—without exception,’ said the letter. ‘Our collective conscience compels us to call for our leaders to protect the most vulnerable and precious members of our global society.’
