S&S launches audio-first imprint
In the US, Simon & Schuster has launched Simon Maverick, an audio-first imprint, under the guidance of Jason Pinter, the imprint’s vice-president and editorial director.
Publishers Weekly (PW) reported that the imprint will feature existing works from self-published authors not yet available in audio, and aims to publish more than 50 titles in 2025. ‘[Pinter] estimated that the launch list is a 50/50 mix of audio-first work and titles that appeared in print, and he expects that ratio to shift toward all-new audio content as the imprint progresses,’ said PW.
The imprint’s first titles include Lauren Palphreyman’s romantasy The Wolf King, Jessica Cage’s monster fantasy I Accidentally Summoned a Demon Boyfriend, Noelle West Ihli’s thriller Such Quiet Girls, and Brady Hunsaker’s fantasy The Depths of Vanalf, which are all available as Kindle ebooks.
