Pulitzer Prize winners announced

In the US, the winners of the 2025 Pulitzer Prizes have been announced.

The winners in the book categories are:

Fiction

Nonfiction

  • To the Success of Our Hopeless Cause: The Many Lives of the Soviet Dissident Movement (Benjamin Nathans, Princeton University Press)

Biography 

  • Every Living Thing: The Great and Deadly Race to Know All Life (Jason Roberts, riverrun)

Memoir/autobiography

  • Feeding Ghosts: A Graphic Memoir (Tessa Hulls, Farrar Straus Giroux)

History (joint prize)

  • Combee: Harriet Tubman, the Combahee River Raid, and Black Freedom During the Civil War (Edda L Fields-Black, OUP)
  • Native Nations: A Millennium in North America (Kathleen DuVal, Random House)

Poetry

  • New and Selected Poems (Marie Howe, W W Norton).
