PRH acquires special edition of ‘Bluey: The Sign’

Penguin Random House (PRH) Australia has announced the forthcoming publication of special edition children’s book Bluey: The Sign.

According to the publisher, The Sign will be based on the television episode of the same name, from the Australian children’s animated series Bluey. This episode ‘set the all-time TV broadcast record for the ABC Kids channel and ABC iView with a total audience of 6.5 million Australian viewers and 50.3 million minutes viewed on premiere day,’ added the publisher.

In this story, blue heeler protagonist Bluey notices a For Sale sign out the front of her family’s house. Bluey, her sister, Bingo, and their cousins try to stop the house from selling and prevent a big move.

PRH Australia became the master publishing partner for Bluey titles in September 2020, holding global rights in all languages (excluding China and Chinese languages).

Since becoming master publishing partner, PRH has expanded the Bluey book program across formats including board books, picture books, chapter books, cookbooks, and interactive book formats including stickers, colouring in, craft, magnet and sound.

Added PRH: ‘Bluey: The Sign will be a deluxe comic-style chapter book at 144 pages, with the story divided into eight chapters for easy reading. With a striking embossed high-gloss cover and full colour internals, this special edition chapter book will cater for a wide age range.’

PRH plans to release Bluey: The Sign globally in early November 2025.
