Bendigo Writers Festival 2025 program announced
The program for the 2025 Bendigo Writers Festival program, which runs 15–17 August on Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung Country, has been announced.
The festival will open with an ABC Radio Outside Broadcast on Friday 15 August where ABC hosts Fiona Parker and Nic Healey will chat to ‘Festival writers, participants and creatives about their work and what makes this festival tick, with live music’. Concluding the program on 17 August will be Wiradjeri writer Jeanine Leane speaking with Claire G Coleman, and writer Robert Dessaix reflecting with Clare Wright.
The full program features more than 80 guests with headliners including Randa Abdel-Fattah, Evelyn Araluen, Sam Elkin, Thomas Mayo, Kate Mildenhall, Katrina Nannestad, Alice Pung, and Solli Raphael.
Programmed events include the local stories lounge to celebrate local talent, free day events at libraries to reach more communities in Greater Bendigo; dedicated space for younger festival attendees; and the school day events for primary and secondary school groups.
Bookish will be the festival bookseller.
