Finding Beauty Poetry Prize shortlist announced
MARION has announced the shortlist for the inaugural Finding Beauty Poetry Prize.
The shortlisted poets are:
- Alisha Brown for ‘As a matter of great importance’
- Cate Furey for ‘Rosalie’
- Annie O’Connell for ‘;’
- Sara Pronger for ‘Still Green’.
The prize was launched in memory of environmental advocate, writer, editor and poet Roger Green and will be awarded to a poet whose submitted poem explores ‘what beauty in nature means to them’. The inaugural judges are Bebe Oliver and Melinda Smith.
The winner will recieve $5000, second place will receive $2000, and the remaining two shortlisted poets will each receive $750.
The winners will be announced on 3 July 2025 as part of the ACT Literary Awards.
